A new take on the old standard

As federal mandates for fuel efficiency increase, the need to reduce vehicle weight is even more important. Often overlooked in that search are the battery cables.

While providing equivalent ampacities when sized appropriately, Copperweld’s suite of CCA conductors can reduce cable weight up to 40% and optimize energy efficiencies of the entire architecture, generating less heat. CCA allows engineers to design with the proven reliability of copper connections.

Our wire is available in both SAE and ISO wire sizes, bare or insulated. CCA wire is commonly available in 8mm² to 120mm² diameters, offered as annealed or hard-drawn, with 10% and 15% copper volumes. Copperweld offers a wide variety of reel sizes, material and options.
